Early in her career, Mary talked her way into her first management position, unaware that the job required speaking and making presentations at Executive Committee meetings. Forced to face her worst fears, she signed up for the Dale Carnegie Course on Human Relations and Public Speaking. Mary finished the course, winning top honors, and found her voice and passion for speaking and training.
She is a certified John Maxwell Group speaker, trainer and coach.

A move South gave Mary the opportunity to begin what would be a 20-year career as a motivational speaker, management consultant, business writer, and seminar leader.
Mary specializes in communications, leadership, motivation, workplace engagement, change management, and process consulting.
After 9/11, Mary took an opportunity as Director of Human Resources for Daufuskie Island Resort and Spa. She spent the next 14 years serving in the role of Human Resources Executive in corporations and non-profits, while also establishing her own successful business, MJN Consulting. Today, as President of MJN Consulting, Mary provides consulting, speaking, and seminar services in the U.S. and abroad.
Originally from the Midwest, Mary now lives in Savannah, Georgia.
While Mary serves clients and organizations worldwide, she also deeply values her family and local community.
When she's not writing, speaking, or leading seminars, Mary sings with the Savannah Philharmonic Chorus and the Cathedral Choir of St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Savannah. She runs an occasional 5K, bikes, or walks the trails on Skidaway Island, spends time on the beach on Hilton Head Island, and loves spending time with her family in Northern Virginia and Jacksonville, Florida.
